The Post Title widget by Atomic Addons shows the title of a blog post in a post page design. You place it once in a Single Post template and every post fills it with its own title. You pick the HTML tag, can link the title to the post and style it for normal and hover states. This guide covers adding the widget, its settings and its styles.
Enable the Post Title Widget
Post Title is a Pro widget and needs Atomic Addons Pro. Switch it on from the plugin dashboard:
- 1
Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons.
- 2
Click the Widgets tab.
- 3
Search for Post Title. You can also open the Posts / Dynamic category.
- 4
Turn the Post Title widget on.
- 5
Click Save Settings.
Add the Post Title Widget
The widget belongs in a Theme Builder template for blog posts, usually at the top of the design:
- 1
Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons → Theme Builder.
- 2
Click Add New and choose the Single Post card.
- 3
Give the template a name and open it in Elementor. Its display condition is already set to Singular → All singular. A Single Post template is only used for single blog posts, so it applies to every post as soon as you publish it.
- 4
In the widget panel, search for Post Title and drag it into the template. The widget sits in the Atomic Addons Pro (Single) category.
- 5
Set it up with the controls below, then click Publish.
In the editor the template previews a sample post: the one picked under Builder Settings → Builder Post in the template's page settings (click Apply & Preview), or your most recent post if none is picked. On your site, each post shows its own title.
The widget is not limited to templates: it is in the panel on any page you edit with Elementor. Placed on an ordinary page or post, it shows the title of that page or post.
Layout
Select the widget and open the Content tab. The Layout section has three settings:
- 1
Title HTML Tag: The tag the title is printed in: h1 to h6, p or div. The default is h2. A post page usually has one
h1, so pick h1 here if your theme does not print the title elsewhere. - 2
Alignment: Left, center, right or justified. Use the device icon to set it per screen size.
- 3
Post Link: Off by default. Turn it on to wrap the title in a link to the post. On the post's own page that link points to the page you are on, so it is most useful when the widget sits somewhere else.
Style the Post Title
On the Style tab, the Title section has two tabs:
- Normal — Color, Typography, Text Stroke and Margin. Turn on Advanced Style to also get a background, Text Shadow, border, Border Radius, box shadow and Padding for the title text.
- Hover — the title's Color when the mouse is over it and, with Advanced Style on, a hover background.
