The Post Content widget by Atomic Addons shows the body of a blog post in a post page design. You place it once in a Single Post template and every post fills it with its own content. It can show the full content or a short excerpt trimmed to a number of words. This guide covers adding the widget, its settings and its styles.
Enable the Post Content Widget
Post Content is a Pro widget and needs Atomic Addons Pro. Switch it on from the plugin dashboard:
- 1
Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons.
- 2
Click the Widgets tab.
- 3
Search for Post Content. You can also open the Posts / Dynamic category.
- 4
Turn the Post Content widget on.
- 5
Click Save Settings.
Add the Post Content Widget
The widget belongs in a Theme Builder template for blog posts, usually below the title and featured image:
- 1
Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons → Theme Builder.
- 2
Click Add New and choose the Single Post card.
- 3
Give the template a name and open it in Elementor. Its display condition is already set to Singular → All singular. A Single Post template is only used for single blog posts, so it applies to every post as soon as you publish it.
- 4
In the widget panel, search for Post Content and drag it into the template. The widget sits in the Atomic Addons Pro (Single) category.
- 5
Set it up with the controls below, then click Publish.
In the editor the template previews a sample post: the one picked under Builder Settings → Builder Post in the template's page settings (click Apply & Preview), or your most recent post if none is picked. On your site, each post shows its own content.
The widget is not limited to templates: it is in the panel on any page you edit with Elementor, where it shows the content of that page or post.
Layout
Select the widget and open the Content tab. The Layout section has these settings:
- 1
Content Type: Excerpt (the default) or Full Content.
- 2
Excerpt: Shown with Excerpt. How many words to keep; the default is 10.
- 3
Alignment: Left, center, right or justified. Use the device icon to set it per screen size.
What each content type prints:
- Excerpt — the post's excerpt, or its content when it has no excerpt, as plain text cut to the number of words you set. Formatting, links and images are removed.
- Full Content — the whole post, the way WordPress prints it, with headings, images, links and embeds such as videos. A post with no content shows a short placeholder text instead.
Style the Post Content
On the Style tab, the Content section sets Typography (your global text style by default), Margin and Text Color. Its Normal and Hover tabs set the color of links inside the content.
