The Document Viewer widget by Atomic Addons embeds a document in your page: a PDF, a Word file, a spreadsheet or a presentation. Visitors scroll through it in a frame on the page instead of downloading it. The widget uses Google’s document viewer, so it works with the common office formats without any extra software. This guide covers adding the widget and choosing the file.

Enable the Document Viewer Widget

Document Viewer is a Free widget and works with the free Atomic Addons plugin. Switch it on from the plugin dashboard:

  1. 1

Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons.

  2. 2

    Click the Widgets tab.

  3. 3

Search for Document Viewer. You can also open the Content category.

  4. 4

Turn the Document Viewer widget on.

  5. 5

    Click Save Settings.

Add the Document Viewer Widget

  1. 1

Open the page in Elementor (Edit with Elementor).

  2. 2

In the widget panel, search for Document Viewer. The widget sits in the Atomic Addons category.

  3. 3

Drag it into the page and set it up with the controls below.

  4. 4

    Click Publish (or Update).

Layout

Open the widget and go to Content → Layout:

  1. 1

File Source: The full URL of the document, such as https://example.com/brochure.pdf. PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPT files all work. To use a file from your site, upload it to Media → Library and copy its File URL. The field accepts Dynamic Tags.

  2. 2

Document Height: The height of the viewer frame, 800px by default (200 to 1500px). Use the device icon to set a different height for tablets and phones.

Google’s viewer fetches the file over the internet, so the URL must be public. A file on a site under construction behind a password, or on your own computer, cannot be shown.

Until you add a file, the editor shows a short hint. Visitors see nothing until a file is set.

Style the Document Viewer

Style → Document sets the frame’s Background, border and Border Radius.
