The Post Comments widget by Atomic Addons shows a blog post's comments and the form for leaving a new one in a post page design. It prints your theme's own comments section, so readers can reply as usual, and lets you style it from Elementor. The widget has no content settings, only styles. This guide covers adding the widget, what it shows and its style settings.

Enable the Post Comments Widget

Post Comments is a Pro widget and needs Atomic Addons Pro. Switch it on from the plugin dashboard:

  1. 1

Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons.

  2. 2

    Click the Widgets tab.

  3. 3

Search for Post Comments. You can also open the Posts / Dynamic category.

  4. 4

Turn the Post Comments widget on.

  5. 5

    Click Save Settings.

Add the Post Comments Widget

The widget belongs in a Theme Builder template for blog posts, usually at the bottom, after the content:

  1. 1

Go to WordPress Dashboard → Atomic Addons → Theme Builder.

  2. 2

Click Add New and choose the Single Post card.

  3. 3

Give the template a name and open it in Elementor. Its display condition is already set to Singular → All singular. A Single Post template is only used for single blog posts, so it applies to every post as soon as you publish it.

  4. 4

In the widget panel, search for Post Comments and drag it into the template. The widget sits in the Atomic Addons Pro (Single) category.

  5. 5

Style it with the controls below, then click Publish.

The widget is not limited to templates: it is in the panel on any page you edit with Elementor, where it shows the comments of that page or post.

What the Widget Shows

The widget prints the comments section your theme provides: the list of approved comments with their replies, and the reply form. Which fields the form has, and how comments are nested and paged, come from your theme and from Settings → Discussion.

Comments must be open on the post. In the editor, when they are closed, the widget shows a red Comments are closed. notice instead. Turn comments on in the Discussion box of the post's edit screen, or for new posts under Settings → Discussion.

Style the Post Comments

Select the widget: its controls are on the Style tab, which opens first. It has three sections:

  • Comment List — Wrapper Padding around the whole comments area, then tabs: Heading (the comment count title), Author (the commenter's name, its hover color and the Gap beside the avatar, plus the color and typography of the “says” text), Text (the comment text and its links) and Meta (the comment date and the Reply link). Each tab has color and typography settings.
  • Comment Box — the reply form, in Heading (the “Leave a Reply” title), Text (the form's text and comment box) and Link (the links in the “Logged in as” line) tabs, each with color and typography.
  • Button — the submit button, with Normal and Hover tabs for color, background and border color, plus padding, margin, border, border radius, box shadow and typography.

These settings target the class names WordPress uses in its default comments markup. If your theme prints its comments differently, some of them may not apply.
